A Super Visitor Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada to reside in Canada for up to 2 years at a time. It is a multi-entry visa that is valid for up to 10 years.

To be eligible:

• The applicant must be the parent or a grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
• You must have a signed letter from your child or grandchild that has invited you to Canada
• You must provide proof that your child or grandchild’s household meets the minimum necessary income
• You must have medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that must be paid in full, worth at least $100 000 and be valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry
• You must apply for a super visa from outside Canada and have it printed from outside Canada
• You must provide a document confirming that you had an immigration medical exam

Other conditions such as the purpose of your visit, your finances, and the overall economic and political stability of your home country are taken into consideration.
