STUDY PERMIT
A study permit allows you to study at a Designated Learning institution (DLI) in Canada. A study permit will allow you to work on or off campus in Canada while you are a student. You also have the chance to qualify for a full-time work permit once you have graduated.
A study permit is required of foreign nationals that intend to study a course or program which is longer than six months at a Canadian university, college, or trade school.
To apply for a study permit,
- You must be accepted to a DLI in Canada
- You must have a valid passport or travel document
- You must qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller if above the age of 18
- You must be able to pay for your tuition fees, living expenses, and return transportation
- You must obey the law, and have no criminal record
- You must be in good health and get a medical exam (if required)
- You must prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your study permit expires
